The MoU was signed by all 3 parties on 13 January 2017.
In order to kick-start the installation process, a suitable outdoor location for the antenna was identified. This site needs to be close to the computer room. EUMETCAst receiving antenna's have had a lot of signal loss issues in areas where the antenna is installed on the roof resulting from strong winds and exposure to radio interference. As such, the MESA staff recommends that the antenna be installed on the ground. The following picture illustrates the position of the antenna.

The procurement of the antenna and computers is executed by the MESA SADC-THEMA team at BDMS in Botswana.
